Breakfast with Santa 2013

I took the boys to breakfast with Santa at Hillcrest CoC and we all enjoyed ourselves. They do such a great job hosting Santa for the kids!

We got there the line was short so I decided that we would go see Santa before eating and doing Christmas crafts.
We have been talking to Lincoln about Santa and who he is and how he would bring him presents. Lincoln seems to be getting it but I don't think he completely understand won't take long.
So while we were in line, I was prepping Lincoln for Santa and asking him what Santa was going to bring him and if he was going to sit on his lap to get candy. He said yes to all the questions but I know how he is so I was still unsure of how he would react. As we got closer to Santa, Mrs. Clause greeted us and was talking to both the boys. Lincoln squeezed up to me making me very nervous. Then came our time to meet Santa. I got my camera ready. Lincoln held my hand and slowly walked towards Santa. He seemed very hesitant but just in awe of seeing this Santa person in real life. Santa said hello and held out a candy cane for Lincoln. He took the candy and got closer to Santa. Santa lifted him on to his lap and quickly took several pics of them -- not know how long this sweet moment would last.

Santa asked Lincoln what he wanted for Christmas and Lincoln whispered, "a green excavator and a green dump truck." Just like all the times we asked him.  Santa didnt quite hear him the first time so Mommy had to help Santa hear. I finally got a pic of Lincoln & Santa looking right into my camera. I quickly set the camera down and lifted Reagan out of the carseat right into Santa's arms. I grabbed the camera as fast as I could and took as many shots as my camera would let me since I wasnt sure if either of the boys was going to burst into tears at any moment. When I was sure we had a good pic I put the camera down and put Reagan back in the carseat. Lincoln got down from Santa's lap and waved to him good-bye. We walked around the corner to get breakfast and you should have seen the look on Lincoln's face. It was really great.

So then we met up with Michelle & Sirena to set our things down. Then we went to get pancakes and sausage. Lincoln ate good and had some orange juice.

After we finished eating, we went to do crafts. We made a snowman snow globe out of a baby food jar, we iced a snowman cookie and added sprinkles, we made two picture frames with lots of stickers and two construction paper ornaments - a star and a tree -  for each boy with their name and year. We had a great time and Lincoln loved every minute of it.

Thanks Hillcrest Church of Christ for Breakfast with Santa!

Oh the things kids say! #2

If you know us, you know that Lincoln has some trouble pooping. Its no secret. So a about two months ago, he told me he had to go. I took him to the bathroom & put him on the potty. I asked him if he had a little poop coming or a big poop. He told me it was a big poop, so I walked into the other room to put away a few things. After a 2-3 minutes, he called me back in the bathroom & asked me to hold his hand. Pretty normal request. Then, he looks at me and says, "Mommy, back up over there." Waving his hand toward the door. As I am backing up, I ask him, "Why do you want me to back up?"  He says, very matter of fact like "Back up so the poop dont splash you."
I about fell down. I said, "What did you say?"  He said, "so the poop dont splash you." At this point, I was doubled over in laughter, which made him laugh. I just couldnt believe what I had just heard.
He finished his business, but it was just so funny that night!

Oh the things kids say! #1

Back in October, (my how time flies) I went over to Burleson to meet up with my mom and dad for a weekend visit. They were in town for a concert and I wanted to shop at a few stores so I got up super early on Saturday morning and drove over. We met up and had lunch at Jack n the Box. Then we went to Target, CVS and then, we found a Kid-to-Kid. We had a great time. We headed back to the hotel to meet up with Dad so they could go to the concert. I took the boys to go eat at Cracker Barrel and then to TJ Maxx.
At TJ Maxx, Lincoln began to melt down so it was time to go back to the hotel. We had baths and then to bed. Sunday morning was nice and slow. We had breakfast at the hotel. I knew I wanted to go to the HEB and get milk and eggs bc they were so cheap and then to World Market (one of my favorite stores ever!) We went to HEB and then over to World Market. Dad bought Lincoln a train whistle and I found the cutest excavator and bull dozer ornaments for the boy's Christmas tree.

For awhile now, we have been working with Lincoln on chewing gum  and not swallowing it. So throughout the weekend, we kept asking him if he still had his gum. On the way over to World Market, we gave him a piece of gum. After we finished shopping I needed to feed Reagan before we got back on the road. We had given Lincoln a juice to drink for the road. While mom and I were sitting in the parking lot feeding Reagan, mom turned to Lincoln and asked if he still had his gum.
He said, "no, his drink swallowed it."  Not that he swallowed it, but that his drink swallowed it for him.  Mom and I just looked at each other and laughed. She turned to him again and talked to him some more about not swallowing his gum.
Reagan finished, we prayed and we both got on the road to head home. It was a great laugh before we got on the long ride home.

                                         Love this kid so much!!

Reagan updates

Yesterday Reagan finally intentionally smiled back at me. That feeling is so great!!
He also officially moved from newborn size Huggies to newborn Pampers.

And he went with me on the first of many walks in the country. He did great. The first real cold front came through last night and the high today was 70 degrees. It was a glorious day!!

And this is how big brother Lincoln decided to take his nap today. Doesn't he look comfy?

That's all for now.
Much love!!

Big boy bed

This little man got a new bed last weekend and has done great! He has only woken up twice this week and come to our bed. The first time was about 1:30am so I let him fall back asleep and then took him back to his bed where he slept until morning. The other night it was about 4:30am. I meant to take him back to his bed, but I fell back asleep and when the alarm went off at 6am he was still with us --oh well. He really loves his new bed and lives telling us it's his big boy bed. I'm so proud!
I hope he can keep this excitement up after his little brother gets here :)
So proud of his bed & truck bedding!

Reading with daddy while his new sheets & comforter were being washed.
